President-Elect Obama selected Pastor Rick Warren to give the invocation at his Inauguration. The GLBT (Gay-Lesbian-Bi-Transgender) community thought this was a slap in the face to the millions of gays who voted for Obama.
"During the course of the entire inaugural festivities, there are going to be a wide range of viewpoints that are presented. And that's how it should be, because that's what America is about. That's part of the magic of this country is that we are diverse and noisy and opinionated," he (Obama) said.
I was glad to see our next President stand up to these activists. If this country is to truly come together, then both sides must have the opportunity to take part without emphasis on left or right but rather as Americans.
